Any comment on Heidenau K60 or K76 tyres for a 1200GS, compared to TKC80's.
Thanks.

Why have I never heard of this make of tyre...?
Going to nip off and Google these babies....
Back in a bit.

Thanks for that link, that was much more informative than the ones I just checked out. I have come across the old Pneumont trade name that they used prior to '93. Think I've owned something in the past with those fitted.
They look a pretty good alternative to the usual MichBridgPirreCont's choice that we all tend to fit. Could be very tempted to give them a go for the next set.![]()

k60 has a far stronger sidewall than the tck80, most people i know with a tck80 have bent the front rim.

Really
I must be on my 10th front TKC and although I do have lots of little nicks, certainly no bends......I can only remember one dinged rim on a GS in all of the Morocco trips, and he was an incompetant twit.
Are the people you know riding up kerbs with the pressure too low?
TKCs do have softer walls, you're right (and its what makes them so easy to fit yourself) but I rather suspect 'most of the people with a tkc have bent the front rim' is one hell of an exaggeration![]()
now now, before trying to quote me at least get it right.... read it properly and not what you want to read before going off on one again.
if offroad with lower pressures the rim can be bent, i know at least 10 people that have run the tck and had some form of bent rim.
if running at full pressure it may not be a problem but to be able to collapse a sidewall between thumb and forefinger means its pretty weak.
MT21 is far stronger and a better offroad tyre.

Well, they have been superb thus far, both on and off road...to pay testimony, I got a puncture just outside Marrakech last week...I rode with a puncture for circa 7 miles and then only noticed a slight weave to the feel...just goes to show how strong they are; the lads fixed it by the road side, got the puncture repaired and it's been like new.
I would have no hesitation in getting another set of these...![]()
