Many of us were wearing them long before whatsisname and for good reason
My point doesn't discriminate between whether you are a 'real biker' who was wearing a peak BC (Before Charley) or AC ...... just that despite him wearing one you either still - or decided to - wear one. Nothing confusing.
Do I get more points for wearing one in 1977 and still wearing one ? (not the same one and not continuously !)
BTW, Boreman did the Dakar you know ?

Surely with types of peak, long and short etc. 3 or 5 stud peaks, colours and makers etc, this could run for another 4 pages ? !!

Going back to his Xlite 551 - i have been considering getting one of these to replace my Schooey S1 (or is it an S2?) Whatever.
I like the sun visor on the Schooey, but I still do a lot of riding one handed, looking like I am saluting everyone coming the other way with a sort of USMC style salute.
Having to use my hand to shade the sun, so I can actually see anything at all, so the combination of sun visor AND peak was very attractive - as was the price compared to the Arai.
Anyone any first hand experience of them? The Xlite helmets that is.
