1150GS, get headlights and panel lights, no fuel or oil guage, indicators work, but not when switching off the alarm and fogs come on if needed. But push the button, get engine turning but seems no spark, any idea's before i call the AA to take it to SPC? had a look and all the fuses are OK and checked for relay's being seated OK. Has been on Optimate as well so battery should be charged?

Fuel pump fine, could still be battery, managed to start it at last, but keeps stoping and re-seting itself now???

Hmm, the starter is turning over but the oil / gear RID is blank? That's odd. If the indicators are working except when you use the alarm / immobiliser I'd suspect that.

Got it started and running seems OK, clock has reset so suspect battery, so took it for a run to charge it better and all seems fine, well runs OK, but still no indicators when arming or disarming the alarm..........on optimate again to see what that comes back with, if not, new battery seems to be the order of the day, just didn't give that impression to start with :nenau

Sounds daft, (probably is..!!) but was it on the side stand at the time? Mine sometimes gives all the above symptoms (blank RID, etc and refuses to fire up) but if you flick up the stand..voila...all is well.

Thought of that one, but same on centre stand, had to go to the stealers for a new battery to try, ssee if that works.

Isn't battery, just hope I can get me money back as symptoms are exactly the same, well worse to be honest, clock comes on when it wants, still no indicator signal when activating alarm, and won't start at all now.....more suggestions please, otherwise it will have to be AA relay to SPC, and I know that will cost the earth for them to find the problem.

Sounds like your alarm`s immobiliser has gone for a shit.

Especially so if you`ve got worse problems after disconnecting the battery.
Can`t you remove the alarm wiring and then try it ??

Are you SURE that the battery leads are ok ( at BOTH ends)...especially the earth lead ??

Really confused now, went out started fine, ran fine for 10 mins, switched off, and nothing, seems if the clock is on it will start and everything initiates, fuel pump etc, but no clock bike dead, so is some way related to that, which is intermitant, but more times off than on, so Relay somewhere? or ECU gone to pot?

Well just got the bike back, seems the dodgy place that fitted the alarm took the feed from the clock, didn't do a good job soldering the joint and didn't include an inline fuse, or rather they removed it to fit it... then corrosion set in....
So after a full re-wire all is back to normal, new tyres as well so left SPC and went to play on the A272 to scrub them in a bit.

No comeback on the garage as was done too long ago
