help please

Hi folks

I'm servicing my 1100GS and trying to do the valve clearances, the manuals states that when the "OT" mark is centered in the timing window this is T.D.C.

however I don't have a "OT" mark I have a "Z" is this the same ?

Any help would be great.

Roddy I am fairly sure that there is an OT mark and a Z mark on the flywheel. Both can be a little hard to see so get a good torch or bright light and turn the flywheel slowly.

Z is fully advanced, not top dead centre. It's used for strobe/dynamic timing, not TDC
