Help! R1150GS will not start.

Thanks Bin Ridin. About a year ago I replaced in-tank fuel lines and clips. Investigation today showed that one of pipes on the pump had disconnected and all other connections were also not as tight as they should be. I used quality fuel injection hose when I did the job but it seems the pipes have shrunk a little due to their immersion in petrol. All reconnected and the bike fired up; but only on one cylinder!
During all this work I damaged one of the external fuel line quick-connectors, so I replaced it with plain hose. Could it be these quick-connectors are essential for proper fuel supply? Does each hose feed one cylinder.

(More research has shown that one pipe is the high pressure feed from the in-tank pump and the other pipe is the low pressure return. Why will it only run on one cylinder then?)
 
Take out the air filter and with the lid off the air filter box squirt brake cleaner or carburetor cleaner into the ducting from the air filter box to the engine whilst cranking the starter motor. If it starts when the cleaner is being sprayed then you know that you have a fuel supply problem.

Thats exactly what the AA man did when my pump died.
 
You've had the tank off right!

Just check your throttle cables are correctly seated.

The carb cleaner trick described above should put you in the right ball park
 
Make sure the throttle cables are properly located in the cams on the back of each injector body...... It's what caused mine to online run on one.
 
Aha! Thanks so much Littledumptruck and everyone else who took the time to help me. The throttle cable on the offside had been disturbed from where it enters the junction box under the centre of the frame. Meaning the throttle was about half open on this side all the time when trying to start. Problem sorted and she runs like a dream again.
Going back to the root cause of my breakdown, the moral of this story is that if you replace fuel lines in the tank, ensure the replacements are designed to be immersed in fuel, not just have fuel run through them. All sorted and a very happy man again.
