Help with Fual Pump

Hi

I have, Or should I say My Wife has a R1100GS, R Reg with 72K on the clock

After a ride a few weeks ago I put it away, On coming later that week to get it out it would not start, I thought it possible was one of the relays so I moved them around, Still nothing, then I check the sparks, OK! but no Fuel, Spoke to some frends told me the Beather pipes may be blocked, No there OK!

So off with the tank and out with the fuel and out with the Pump (Good time to fit new fuel Filter)

Does any one know if the Pump Will run when not in Fuel?

Or does it have to be the right way up ect how do I test it

Can you take it apart, I have not yet worked out how to get it off does that bag thing come of?

Any one help?

Or should I be looking at some thing else?
