I managed to damage the end of the centre retaining pin when I was going to change the front pads (2125 type). This means I CANT loosed the pin and take it out.......any ideas of a way I can get it out. I suppose drilling the head off and putting in a new pin is probably the only option, but I thought it worth asking :(

Thanks
Steve

Check to se if there is a small hole at the other end :clap you might be able to knock it out from tother end.

Nope

Its a threaded pin that goes through................thinking now to cut and take out the flat spring under the pin , that would then give me room to put grips on the pin, and hopefully turn and undo it.........................:nenau

I used to get the same problem with my yamaha super tenere caliper pins-the problem usually solved by widening hex end of pin with a suitably sized drill and using an extractor to unscrew the pin. Coppa slip the threads to reasemble. I wouldn't advise drilling head off and if you have any doubts about your ability to do the job, get someone with the required skills to help as a new calliper is expensive.
Good luck
