Well, I've done about 300 miles on her since picking her up yesterday, and I guess I'm starting to get a feel for her now, getting used to short shifting and using the torque instead of the revs (like the VFR)
There are some strange noises at various times, that I have got to put a finger on, one like a rattle when I let the clutch out on take off, so I'm guessing Thrust bearing (does it have one?) It's a dry clutch in the boxer engine (like a car) isn't it? as opposed to "normal" wet clutch in most bikes.
Also sounds a bit whiny in third, but I guess that's probably worn cogs in the gearbox
As I said, The bike is 16 years old with nearly 60,000 miles on it, so it's gonna have some stuff that's worn will need fettling/repairing/replacing, this much I know and accept, but for me it's an entry into the world of the adventure bike, and after only 24 hours I can already see the appeal of this versatile machine.
Mrs Fester seemed pleased with the difference in comfort for herself from the VFR (just back from a long weekend in France), and today actually started talking about riding to Spain

( I suggested a shorter trip first ) or Germany (better for a start I think), whereas she had always refused to entertain such a trip on the VFR, so that can only be a good thing
