I just finished fitting 50w 6000k HID lights to my 1200gs and they are just awesome! I read most of the previous posts about them and thought your guys may have been exagerating a little. It took me a while to fit them as im not to practical but I took my time and eveything went ok. I am taking it out on the road tonight to see just how good they are in the countryside with no streetlamps. I was parked next to my car in the garage testing them last night and there so bright I thought the paint on my X3 was going to blister.:bounce1

What you need is a nice HID bracket to mount the ballast on ;)

Out of interest where have you mounted the ballasts?

I have 4 HID ballasts on my (standard 1200 GS) one each for the dip and main, and two for the Micro DE's - two (dip and main) are mounted behind the side panels on BestRest's brackets (needed a bit of modifying and the 50W ballasts are a tight fit), two (for Micro DE's) are mounted on Les' 'under-beak' bracket that mounts off the Oil Cooler bolts.

Both methods are good
- by far the easiest is Les' brackets
- The advantage of Best Rest's brackets are that you can't see any difference to the bike unless you look down around the steering yoke.

I have mounted them on the side panels just under where the winglets are on the Adv model.

Nice bracket how much is it and where does it fit?

£25 for the 1200, fits on the oil cooler bolts and hangs down and under the cooler, supplied with instructions for a easy fit.

I would like to buy one, how do I go about sending you the money?
