Can anybody tell me the correct hid lighting kit for a 2002 1150gs please.i have e-mailed IAN at hid4u
twice but seem to be at crossed purposes the first reply was for a bmw car,and the second was for bikes with canbus wiring. I will stand corrected but i don't think my bike has canbus wiring.
Any help appreciated.
Ian.

The kit you need is a H1 kit. Canbus doesn't make a big difference anyway, it's only an inline resistor.
I would email Matin as his kits are alot cheaper (may take 3 weeks to deliver though). If you look in the GS mods section you'll find his details. If you do email him mention that you have come from UKGSer as he is paying special attention to our orders.
Suggest you only do dipped beam as the HID takes too long to warm up on high and reduces the life of the bulb substantially.
Fitting is really easy, if you need help PM me.:thumb

I've just fitted the H1 kit to my 2003 1150gs and it makes so much difference its unbelievable. I ride down country roads to work and even though I have only done the dipped as stated above, I can hardly tell the difference when I put the main beam on! The HID is that bright. Its a top mod, really worth the money.

Fitting wise, it is quite easy to fit. I bought mine from visionbulbs and even though it didn't come with any instructions, ovepaa on this site sent me some idiot proof destructions which i'll gladly forward onto you if you want?

Only thing that slowed me down was a kept blowing fuses for some reason.....

Let me know if you want these instructions

I changed both dip and main beam.

I'm not much given to flashing my lights, so the main beam comes on when needed.

Frankly, just changing the dip beam doesn't really improve the situation hugely, 'cos the beam shape provided by the lens/reflector is still pretty crappy. Bunging an HID fitment into the pencil-beam main-beam lamp is stunning.

2 H1 fittings. And don't go above 5000K for lamp colour temp, else they become too blue for best light output/reception in your eye.

Ditto. Below is the link that HIDS4U sent to me and which I subsequently installed. I'm more than pleased with the result. I'm even quite happy with the dip beam pattern as it's hard to imagine how it could be improved without dazzling other road users.
