hilltop remapping etc

Just got back from visiting Geoff this morning for a remap on the way back home I
Noticed no significant improvement in the bikes performance whatsoever.......
Mainly because it was strapped down in the back of my van as I'm not into
Cold weather riding
But as soon as I do get out on her I will tell you how I get on ,
So far I'd highly recommend him ,but do take a flask as there is no cup of char on offer

Am sure you'll notice a smoother, flat spot free experience.....:D

If you want a coffee, you have to go next door to the car place & make your own.....;)

Go on take a risk its not that bad out there. Though if the roads are white you might want to leave it a while. BTW, white around here means dried salt. Our frosts dont hang around for long. ;)

I've just put some new spark plugs in the old girl as recommended by Geoff
So as soon as we get a dry ,mildish day 7or 8c (total fanny I know)
I'll be out for a spin on her so I can give you a review of how she feels

I haven't changed my plugs yet and its about 6K since my remap. I'll change them at the next service and it will be interesting to see if I can notice any difference.

Got the bike out this afternoon dry roads and 5c so we never ventured far
Just 30 miles round trip to local bikers cafe at Quatt .
Verdict ....it's like riding a different bike in all departments really
Low revs ,quicker on the pick up ,and just wants to go ,even swmbo noticed the difference saying how much smoother it felt .
Cutting out on downshift never occurred today either but really need a longer ride to find whether or not that has been cured
I've added a lot of farkles but this could be the best money I've spent ...gav:thumb2

Thanks for sharing Gav.

Keep us posted re the cutting out on downshifting thing. That's one of my main reasons for wanting mine done, and I'm hoping to get over in the near future to get mine done.

Rocketman what was the before and after figures ! Are you stock "exhaust" system.

Very interested in your gains, i had my wc done and I'm going to have the TC done as well.

No probs bs ,Geoff at hill top did say that having the remap should sort it out but you never know there has been other theories to why this occurs .
Remus decat headers,Beowulf silencer, standard filter, on first run figures where
79 BHp at back wheel and torque 67ft/lb after remap on next run
107 bhp and 88 ft/lb quite a difference I can't wait to get out for a blast without
The duchess ..........gav:thumb2

Surely a new set of plugs should have been fitted BEFORE setting the bike up on a dyno not after if it needed them?

The geezer recommended putting some new plugs in after the remap due to the bike running so lean before hand
So that's what I did .

Can't see it as don't have access. There should be enough people to fill it though. Is it still around the 350 mark for group visit?

Thank you.

As you're in Edinburgh just wondered if you knew about Motorrad Centrals open day on Saturday in Newtongrange.

Not home this weekend, but otherwise - would have popped along.

Was at one last year at the mining museum and it was a good day out. The museum cafe did the (free) catering all day.
