Hiplok DX-1000

Yep, bought one a month back and used it on a trip to Wales. Very impressed.

Don’t carry it but should be easy enough to fit in a top box. I cut the rubber off mine to enable it to clear the front wheel so not to rest on the spokes.
Looks shit. Still functional.

Cheers men. (y)
I'm looking at this lock over the Litelok X3 because the design of the keeper means you have to make 2 cuts to remove it from a wheel or whatever.
That and the X3 only seems to be available from Litelok here.
The DX1000 I can get for a good price from Louis.

I have designed and made 3D printed lock holders for both bikes.

On the Guzzi it’s just below the rear indicator & saddle behind the shock, and on the GS, it’s under the topbox. In both cases, the print is shaped so the lock simply locks onto it.

You obviously need to think about where it might mount on the bike.

Should be possible to do that for pretty much any lock, I guess. If you don’t have a printer, you might find a “Maker Space” in a local town or city, but you’d need to buy a bottle of wine for someone to do the CAD model.

I’ve a DX1000 and am pleased either way it. Super solid construction and I’ll see no reason why it wouldn’t work as a portable lock on a trip.

I’ve got the x1 and carry it by locking it around the rear scaffolding on my GSA, Hiplock would be no different. The x1 also requires two cuts to get off as it doesn’t turn in the lock head part.

Would you be willing to got share your 3d print files? I’m just about to pick up a DX1000. Thanks!
