Honda Blackbird

Took apart the loom and all connectors to clean, sort bad earths, new petrol pump, plugs, battery …. Took out and cleaned, new seals, injectors that were all gummed up.
Did you do the loom fix while you were at it .

Wow what a great reunion, and not many miles in between 👍. Looking forward to seeing the finished bike 😎

Getting there slowly when time allows, have rebuilt the front forks, the wheels are away being powder coated and the rest just cleaning and surface rust removal, need to sort the radiator either paint or replace and one of the engines covers needs painting. New tyres ordered to replace the ones I put on 20 plus years ago together with wheel bearings , rear sprocket and a new chain. Picked up a rare find in a set of Gilles Vario bars as well.

That’s better 😁 although I’ve been told they don’t live in the kitchen 😂

Seriously? This is going to be amazing!

Speaking of fast things, saw a beautiful orange late gen busa in my ‘hood this week. The rider controlled the low speed filter like a boss and it set me up for the day when the bike left the traffic lights. 0-60 in no time.

Anyway, enough of my waffle! Get it finished 😊

Pretty Howard. You sourced a fork top shield then?
Where's the 2 rear brake hose clamps for the swing arm🤔

🤞

Still need a fork top 😩 …… other bits in a box waiting to be cleaned and put on 👍🏻 as well as a hugger

That's looking amazing well done on all the work. I had a red one for a few years,it's one of the very few bikes I regret selling.

No stop please ,no photos 🫣😗 have 3 bikes of my own driveway is full with 4 cars another one possibly on the way. Garage is full with bikes ramp, tools etc, 3 barna sheds full of my other stuff. Bicycles live in the sitting room on stands. The war office will euthanise me if I buy anything else

What a lovely thread. I’ve always fancied owning a blackbird! Please keep the posts coming.

My blue blackbird ( obviously the fastest colour) is the one single bike I wish I still had. Toured Scotland, wales, Ireland, Belgium, Netherlands, France and many England rides on it. Even my wife says it’s the best bike we ever had. Comfortable, fast, smooth, very well made, very good looking bike. Did I mention it was fast?
It looked like it was doing 100mph when stood still.

Enjoying this saga, I had one for a year it's too easy to get used to the power and get into licence losing territory sold it when i decided i liked an 1100 GS better still miss it though.

Great story. I wish I had the mechanical ability to restore bikes but my hands and my brain simply don't co-ordinate well enough. I loved my Blackbird but the lovely Mrs Saint couldn't get on with the seat to peg ratio and it left her in agony getting off the bike.
