Horn suddenly does not work....

Bike had its MOT so I assume the horn worked for that but the next time I went to use it nothing :/

Any quick way to test whether it is switchgear or the horn..... I would just stick a tester on it but the Canbus makes me nervous.

If the horn is dead, I may go down the Nippy Normans Nautilus Horn route but no point doing that if it is the switch gear....

and before anyone says it, yes I did do a search on hear first

It's an 09 model GS and all input is welcome

Give it a tap, the diaphragm mechanism may have stuck. Always happens at MOT time. Could also have a poor feed or earth connection, it's only 12volts so easy to test with a multimeter on DC volts, perhaps with an assistant to press the horn button whilst you use the meter.

Anybody managed to squeeze one in on a CIRCA 09 ESA bike ?

Nautilus uses relay so the switchgear should cope.

Kinda related, if your standard horns a bit quieter than normal. Squirt some wd40 in it. It's helps loosen it up.

Fitted without a problem.... About an hour in total.

Update.......

Preping the bike up for a trip at the weekend and I notice the Nautilus horn had dropped a little and was fouling on the forks on right hand lock.

The GS has ESA, so it is tight and many people don't fit them for that reason but a simple cable tie hanging from the front of the frame seams to have sorted things out and guarantees it wont drop down again.
