Definitely recommend Hotel Clos. It's at the bottom of the N85 on the left as you travel South into the town.
It's a family run private hotel tucked away from the road with semi secure parking the owner/proprietor is also the brilliant chef in the very nice restaurant. You don't need a collar and a tie but it is smart. A fantastic selection of desert wines mmmmmmmm the memories, the beers are also cold and quick.
If Gap fits in logically as a stop between others - and you just want to park the bike up, get cleaned up, sit on a nice terrace in the sun with a couple of beers - then enjoy a good meal in a great resteraunt................
Sorry - been offline for a few days. Just looking for two of us as an overnight: work trip, so UK to Gap, then next morning we're in the right place to start the hard work straight away, photographing the lake and the lower leg of Napoleon (the road, not the dead dictator)
Yup. I've stayed at the Ibis there last year. It's cheap and cheerful, a stroll into the centre, had pretty girls at reception who knew what they were doing and has secure parking for bikes underneath the hotel behind locked doors.
