Apologies for the 'noob' question, but I'm coming to the end of my running in period (on a 1200 GSA). Been quoted £85 from the dealership for the 1st service. Does that sound about right?

TIA,
David.

Sounds about right to me - I paid £99 for mine a couple of months ago.

I was quoted £50 + oils and parts. Great I thought...total bill £170.02.

Engine oil 29.11
Oil Filter 7.45
Sealing ring 0.25
Gaskets 5.70 and 24.00
Gearbox oil 28.19 add on the VAT and you have been stuffed/shafted

You must have had it done over here in Belfast, as mate with brand new 1200GS, £11,000 3/4 weeks old, first service £170.00, disgraceful, then thats why customers are rushing back to them, NOT!!!!!!!

Mine was £51.68 I think you only pay for the oil. The dealer pays the rest. Well that's what mine did anyway.

I don't feel so bad about my bill now.....this is crap though

Bought my bike from MCE, quoted me 240 for the service back in May. Had it done elsewhere, 170ish. Pity there sems to be no consistency with first service prices.

Just to finalise this thread - I ended up paying £99.88, which seems a pretty average price for the 1st service.

Cheers,
David.

And 1st Prize for the Cheapest goes to...

...Bahnstormer.

£37.37

No labour and parts:
Filter - £7.45
Oil - £18.40
Inner gasket x 2 - £5.70
Sealing ring - 25p
+VAT

Looks like there,s about £28 worth of Final Drive Oil missing from your bill there Dave. Either they didn,t change it or forgot to charge you for it !!.
Mike Tee

They definitely changed it - i watched them (Wheel off, FD swiveled 90 degrees off the drive shaft). Have to say, I hadn't noticed until you mentioned it.

I won't say anything if you don't!!
