HOW MUCH ????

6yrs NCB and went for the premier policy with Hasting at £132 - 2013 Triple Black GSA (taken out via TCB so I'll receive £35 back on that price). 49years young.

With prices like that, You either 75 years young, live in the J*ck country or both :nenau (PS: no offence)

Mind you you have a number of bikes, I have just one (well yet to get one) and a rotten (litterally) car

A brick garage , electric gates and a big dog help
But shop around on these comparison sites, it will pay off.....

No Garage, or Electric Gates or Feck of Big Dog here pall (sadly)

So one will have to settle with the best one can find £732.:eek::rolleyes: Maybe next year it'll be cheaper? Yeah right it will........

Bennetts were charging me for a 64 plate GS TE £629 fully comp last year including cover for leathers, breakdown, motor legal and personal accident. Now that I wanted to insure my brand new GSA, they want £1514.78, how for the love of god is that possible?

Have cancelled my auto renew with them too now as it's gone up by £120

EVskij have you tried BMW insurance.

Last year they knocked spots off Carole Nash to insure my 16 plate bike. I should add I've been with CN for over 10 years and in my case they've consistently beaten everyone else. I only stayed with CN in the end as I have the six wheel policy and it was the best solution for me then. Surprisingly BMW were very competitive for a change.

Cheers

Clive

Have you NCB ?

Yep 9 years, I live inside M25 one of the main reasons why it's expensive. I've spent last 4 hours looking for a better deal. That is the best I can find sadly.

They are run by devitt insurance but I'll give them a call tomorrow. I doubt they'll be cheaper, but worth a dabble.... :thumb

Shocking !!! But I guess that's the price you pay for living near the bike nick capital of the UK.
Nothing you can do really other than alarm, tracker, ground anchor and wire up to mains !

Yep, tried to add alarm & tracker and see if it changes anything in term of price, A fat NO is the answer. Got ground anchor and a chain. I am not paying £400 for a tracker and a years subscription to gain nothing out of it other than knowing where my bike is at any given time. I just will have to be very careful.....

How long have you had a full licence ? Surely this alone will most likely make a difference.

I believe that only 5 years NCB counts towards the final price of you insurance premium. Any more that is just to make the person paying the premium happy.

Age, experience, location and value. I've reached an age where it might start going up again!

Age 34, experience 10 years, location inner M25, Value brand new bike...

I think this will contribute also to why its high, riding something with 120 bhp against a 12hp scoot.

Strangely I've just insured something yesterday and was happy at £250 fully comp so got down to payment and i was asked to enter my driving licence no and pressed verify for it come come back with a further discount ?

I heard insurance prices are going up 70% ! I recon southerners are to blame scoots and GS bikes being nicked daily in the big apple.

The article in the link will explain the ins hike that someone posted earlier
All money grabbing gits like estate agents and solicitors ,,,,, they need clamping down and investigating like the banks have been

Just been though all this insurance rubbish again.

Try Bikesure. Easy to talk too and they wanted to help out and covered my can etc on my triple black. BMW ins wanted £503 and Bikesure came in at £287.

Listen to the Nutty Gser he gave me some good advise. Thanks fella

Steer well clear of Carole Nash that’s all I can say after my experience this week.
I posted earlier about them quoting me £1200 for a brand new triple black, I’m 56 had a full licence for 39 years, 9 years plus no claims, no accidents or convictions, and live in a rural area with little bike crime. Bennet’s gave me the same policy with the same insurance company for £265. I rang Nash today to cancel my existing policy on another bike which cost me just under £200 at the start of November and was told I was entitled to £4.63 refund. Robbers, needless to say they were told where they could stuff it. First time I have ever lost it on the phone And they have lost a customer who will never be going back

I don't think I have used the same bike insurance company/broker two years in the trot. They all use the same underwriters, Aviva, Equity Red Star to name but 2, but the difference in literally the same policy is unbelievable as you have found out lately. They all appear to use the same tactics, one year they are horrendously expensive then the following year they come back down to earth with a competitive price. They are all the scum of the earth and deserve to be treated likewise just in the same way as they treat their customers.
