how to dvd to cd

i have a DVD i love to bits.
how does one go about / or can you convert DVD to CD. for car etc.
perhaps one of you clever bods could help a ficko

there's a really easy way to copy it but I can't say it on a public forum the world of copyrights and all that...

if you have a PC you could buy a copy program like ripper, so you can make a copy incase the orginal gets damaged.

Lets assume we all know about copyright, but also assume you don't care, or you "want to make a security backup" (?), then its nice and easy.

Download a freeby peice of software called DVD43 (DVD for free - geddit?), this creates a virtual DVD drive that you can just copy the files off you DVD to hard disk (this will be at least 4-8GB), so be warned.

One the files are on your hard drive, you can simply pop them back on to a blank DVD (if they fit), or can be manipulated with a shareware program like Handbrake (www.handbrake.fr). I use this to convert my movies for my Iphone, it works a treat, this will also convert into any other format you want (CD say).

Both of the above apps are tried and trusted, and are freely available.
