Tomorrow I'm heading to Frankfurt to meet chick and then on sat. we're gonna visit the Ring :bounce1 600km from East to West.

Only prob is the forecast looks crap with LOTS of rain on the way :(

After buying my Rallye2 suit :ymca last week I thought this would be a good chance to try it out. It looks like I'll be using the GoreTex liner a lot.

Q. Have you all found the suit 100% w/proof? I'm not fussed about continually changing and putting the liner in at the side of the road and then having to dry it all off later so have thought about just putting my 1piece oversuit over both :nenau

Any experiences?

thanks

I've got a Savanna 2 jacket and trousers that uses the same technology and it's never leaked. Just make sure that your wallet etc is in a waterproof bag ;) It can feel a bit strange when it starts raining and the water trickles down the outside of the goertex liner, it feels just like a leak as it's cold :tears

As it's more faff to put the liners in, I tend to leave the trousers one in all the time and just mess with the jacket.

Last weekend (Friday &Saturday) I rode back from the Pyranees right through the middle of France in the p*****g rain almost constantly. I bought a Rallye 2 pro suit specifically for this trip and was very impressed with the performance. For the previous week I had been riding around Spain in 30+ degrees and the suit was excellent. During the rain it did not let me down and kept me dry throughout the whole journey home. I wouldn't worry about it if you have one of these suits only if you have not.......:thumb

Never once let me down - even when I left the vent flaps open in torrential rain. Have taken the Big "Beemer" logos off it and it looks even better :thumb

Liners do make it warm in the summer, but its a trade off between heat and dryness. The jacket especially gets really heavy when it gets wet ........ And on that point, when you wash it - use Natural liquid soap and reproof it using NikWax or similiar.

Enjoy Germany ....;)
