Ditto, I think for a RTW bike the DRZ400 could be hard to beat. The "phone" picture does not seem to show much modification.

I've got no way of showing proper pictures as I'm still deliberating on whether to buy another DSLR although that picture does show when you look carefully...
Cee bailey screen, Clarke tank (180 miles+, but I want an Aqualine (300 miles +), Corbin seat, Wolftail luggage (the best!), CF/Kevlar belly and clutch cover. Ram-mount for GPS and modified qpac for Sony Erricson phone. Renthal 644 bars and 5cm risers.
Other stuff you can't see include...
CF/Kevlar alternator cover, 3x BMW sockets up-front, bespoke LED indicators, LED rear.
I tried fitting HID but it's a PITA for H4 bulbs and adds another kg when I ride in the dark very little anyway.
Top speed by GPS is 85-90 ish with 80 uphill. Cruising at 70-80 is very comfortable IF you keep the bar ends on, don't run high gearing and buy a Corbin and screen.
Economy is outstanding. £22 from Calais to Newcastle at 98p motorway prices. It would have been about £32 on my old 1150 as it took £28 to North London

On another note I've had it for 4 months and nothing has broke or required replacing. There have been no recalls in it's 5 year history either. Damn Japanese reliability!

With a HP2 you've got the choice to do both.
If you just want to cruise,stop,eat,talk, then go hiking, buy a pushbike or do an organised bustour...
