As It says a big write up on the HP2 Megamoto in MCN today ,they seem to think it an expensive pointless exersize ,but it wheelies well!!:thumb2

I still think they are ugleeeee but wheelies are a good enough reason I guess, however you can get a Husaberg for less than half the cost that also wheelies well.

That sounds like another in depth test by MCN.Did they test it against a GSXRCBRRYZX1000 by any chance:rolleyes:

Yet I supose in the same magazine they said a GSXR1000 was an ideal touring machine for long distance 2 up travel. What were they trying to pitch it against a honda step through.... they should be honoury members here as they are complete tossers.

toilet paper

i will have nothing bad said against mcn its ideal for lining the cats litter tray

wheelie

hello all.
I got my akra full system fitted, the " powercommender"
is there too, and I have 113 HP and 126Nm torque
on the wheel, I still find it hard to wheelie the bike.
In 1 and 2 it can powerwheelie, but i still think I have
to go on the throttle quite hard to make it work.
Is the gearing lower on the MegaMoto ?, I am a complete
chicken, that needs to practice, or what ?
thanks

I noticed the front come up as I shifted into 4th this morning - admittedly it was a full throttle gear change with little finesse, I had an Almax in the tail bag and it was little more than topping the forks out but it made me laugh :)

They suggested the HP2 was a white elephant, were they wrong?

Probably yes, it runs circles around the gray, mini versions of elephants in the conditions where it's actually ment to be ridden - in the open spaces, rallye and offroad:

Most of MC magazine idiots think it should be ridden in technical 250cc tracks and talk bollox.

I know exactly was it feels like to be in the same place as the first photo...bloody painful:mad:

Don't think you've really exacly ever felt it :D. KTM 950 Super Enduros riders had the same view as this pic probably had that feeling riding in the back of HP2s and never couldn't catch them :D HP2s did over 175kph (110mph, offroad), it's over 100hp from the rear wheel, more than 110Nm of torque from the rear wheel, ridden by professional riders with full throttle and special racing knobbytires that kicks off far more rocks and dust than any consumer tyre you've ever ridden offroad from the rear side, far from it. I've done behind other bikes on gravel and gotten bruised etc, but at least I wouldn't wan to be behind the factory HP2s with professional riders  :D

Can you feel the power?

psst: actually, it's done by a still-staning photographer with proper protection :D

I have nothing but 100% respect for the factory riders who can use a HP2 to full effect on the dirt - It is the sort of bike that will get you into trouble very quickly if you are not paying attention - and that is on normal roads

Megamoto

Seen a few Megamotos around donnington GP today, one guy was giving it a right bit off stick, nice bike pity the Dealers or should i say "stealers" wont give us a bit more for our GS 1200s to trade in the robbing theiving gits:spitfire that they are, "Dee tee" was asked £6500 to change from a o6 GS 1200 if i remember right and Hursts asked me £5600 to change and my bike is a 06 GS12 in Top condition with 3000 miles only, but then again we all know about HURSTS, if i had an English pound for everyone i talked to this year who versed the same thoughts on Hursts in Mallusk id be a rich Guy.
I can tell you its the last bike i will ever buy in that place, and i am sure im not the only one.
Rant over nice bike though.
Steve

Nearly,it was £5600.Mind,by the time i'd added the charge for putting the GS back to Std with the Trail Wheels and OE Exhaust, and paid for my Reg No to be transferred, it was nudging up to nearly £6k. So i didn't bother.
