That's an amazing demonstration of ingenuity. You are certainly on track to solve the problem from a technical perspective. But I have to question the aesthetics. The current GS design utilises complex curves and sculpted surfaces, to my eye this technique of simulating curves with flat surfaces will contrast this very strongly.
Taste is personal and for me that contrast is too dramatic here. However I'm sure some will see this as a design statement that enhances their bike.
I think this is the same reason why folks aren't rushing to buy the Ilmberger Hugger (apart from the excessive price), it doesn't integrate visually with the bike even though it is technically functional.
I have a couple of Cymarc farkles, the crud catcher and the radiator guards, and am delighted with them and how they look, your machine is just amazing, but this one isn't for me.
