By the way it is probably that we get up early and get on with things rather than have a series of 'meetings' that we get things done !,

its holding the rubber sheet in place mate - that's the problem - not sure if I can bond it as the inside of the `armadillo` is very convoluted.
What about a series of slots down the edges that it could slide into and then strategically placed pop rivets. I am sure that the correct 'contact' style adhesive would be surprisingly capable of holding any liner in place. As in my pm I think the liner would enable you to have as many slits as you want as it would act as a binder to hold it all together.
Mark. Tiger seal from car factors is great for bonding rubber to steel. You could always consider a heavy layer of stone chip sprayed on it would give protection and act as sound killer.
Hi Mark, I have sent you an email with a few images of a prototype idea that I have cobbled together. I cannot post images on here.
- you can`t see the bracket
It's not made for knobblies pal and yes I think the longer sides are better

Guys, here`s the next step - its just to prove the shape thats all but I think I am getting nearer the `hugger` shape don`t you think?
I do feel that I will have to Tig it up (which isn`t the end of the world) but I`m starting to get quite pleased witht he radical design,
Can you see what I mean by `layered` and `Armadillo-like`
What do we think? Load of arse? Too radical to be any good? Or `Radical-R-Us` ????
I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder and there will be amny people who don`t like this but I`m starting to like the way this is going...............

Maybe make an alternative to the mudsling for those with knobblies![]()
I think its looking pretty good, personally I would like to see the sections curve too but it would definitely be a seller. maybe smaller sections would achieve more curve. but as work in progress looking good mate.

Superb job Mark. I wonder if it could be sprayed with a thick coating of something like a 2 part epoxy in semi Matt black. It would have the strength of the alloy with the stealth look of a moulding. Let me know when you need a tester
