Having just sold my 550K3 Honda ( which makes over 150 bikes I’ve owned since 1977) My use has changed from Euro trips with the Mrs to going for a bimble around country lanes for an hour or two on my own …. And the odd bike meet … polishing and admiring has a lot of my time bike wise… I thought the 550K3 would do it… but I hadn’t got the stamina to keep on top with the old technology such as Carbs and points…

Started looking around and like the look of this

Opinions welcome as I’ve never owned an R9T … I reckon my new Belstaff jacket would suit it 😉

I had an R 9 T scrambler in 2016 when they first came out . same engine as the GS so felt good to ride . Rear suspension was not great and jarred . put Bar risers on and dropped the pegs but in the end I found it cramped at 6 foot 5 . If you are not tall it will be a great bike , easy to look after and old school looking without the hassle of an old bike . Test ride one first if you can . That looks nice

Second hand R18 look stonking value, take your choice at £9500 with a 2 year warranty from main dealer.

A mate of mine owned this from new, it has done just 8,500 miles.

Last month he was knocked off it, just a low speed tumble. Damage was a broken clutch lever, broken indicator, very small mark on the exhaust and a holed rocker cover.

It was written off last week :blast

He was offered it back for next to nothing but declined as he said he couldn't trust it as it ran for a few seconds with a hole in the rocker cover :blast :blast

Only yesterday I bollocked him for not telling me about the buy back offer as I would have brought it off him, put a new rocker cover and clutch leaver on it and ended up with a very nice bike.

Bugger 😳 that would have done me fine

Been into The Superbike Factory at Donington Park and had a sit on a Pure…. Perfect fit so put a deposit on the one in the link …. It’ll mean a trip to Bradford to collect but it could be worse😉

… had a sit on a Pure…. Perfect fit so put a deposit on the one in the link ….
The Pure is the most basic of the R9T range, it was always sold with intention for people to mod it to their own taste.

My wife has one, we popped a rev counter for her as she was a new rider at the time. This meant she got gear indicator within the rev counter. We put a Dart fly screen on and recently a few more trinkets. She loves hers, but I think bar risers and a rear shock are a must for her to make it more comfortable.

R9T have always been a terrible bike where rear shock absorbers are concerned.

I've got a Shock Factory M-shock for sale setup for 95kgs rider+gear and +10mm length, transformed the ride on my Urban GS. PM if interested.

What could possibly be worse than a trip to Bradford ?
Well… a trip to Bradford is no longer on the cards…. Having seen close up pictures of said bike I wasn’t happy with a few chips and marks on the tank….so I’ve cancelled ….and now waiting for my deposit back 😊

Go to a BMW dealer and see what stock they have
