I’d like one in the garage

I test rode the one in Fins Motorcycles in Redhill (Surrey). No chips in the paintwork anywhere on that one as far as I can make out. Bog standard 2018 grey Pure and ripe for someone who's after one.

The price has gone down too since I was out on it in September - I think because of the time of year and another bike shop close by has one up the road for sale. Looks like a bargain price and a good independent place who I can vouch for as good guys. I probably would've gone back for it now I've sold my old Guzzi Le Mans, but now I have some working space in the shed I've decided to start the winter project and go R9T shopping in the spring :)

Those mirrors are from Turban or Scrambler or as previously fitted to all twin cam GS bikes. They aren’t standard issue on Pure. Could be previous owners choice, to make it look a little bit more classic bike like with Mickey ears instead of standard issue pionty mirrors as can be found on my GS LC bikes
Low enough price. Probably a ton or even two and a half to be had off.

I’d be looking at a new set of tyres, as those look like the factory issue Metzeller rubber and highly likely to be as old, if not older than the bike it self. In excess of or at least knocking for 7 years old. That has to be £250-350 worth. The pure spoked wheels use inner tubes, so probably more of a faff to change the rubber, resulting in that much more ££.

I’d be checking the tyre date and making an offer based on that. Any rubber over 5 years old on a motorcycle, would make me want to change it. No matter how much tread there is left.

On my recent trip to France, I’ve realised that my front tyre is dated 1318 (week 13 of 2018), so it is time to get a new one for the next season, despite still plenty of tread being on it.

I have one for a Sunday bumble and they’re great. Definitely more suited to shorter riders - I’m 6”1 so am fairly cramped but don’t care as I only do short spins and enjoy the oil cooled engine. Classic looks but modern tech - plenty around in dealers as far as I can see. Mine is the 719 edition.

I’ve now got a very nice F850GS from on here being delivered next week…. So a complete change of thinking 😎

I had the first version when it came out. I used it as a second bike along side the GSA. on these models the front and rear suspension was not the best, but for what I was doing with it , the odd couple of hours bible here and there it was fine. The newer versions like the pure etc all had upgraded front suspension but the rear stayed the same. Im 12 stone 8 so it really wasn't an issue for a couple of hours here and there. Heavier riders did change to various aftermarket shocks, Maxton was popular. Most owners had this model as a second bike, so there should be some low mileage ones around. Hope you get sorted
