I’ve just purchased a Garmin Montana 750i, expensive but not bad. I say expensive, it’s not that much more than BMW charge for their ever failing Nav 6 which is just a rebranded Zumo model.

Moved, along with the subsequent posts.

You’re going to have problems.
Lots and lots of problems.
We’re on our 7th 700/750i now with Garmin.
Been helping g them attempt to trace the very well known shutdown:rebooting issues but it’s still nowhere near stable so will be taking up their offer of full refunds on both of them.
They just need to cough up on the cradles and the stupidly expensive sd card.

Two years ago I had a 700i which I experienced many shutdown issues with. Both the supplier of the unit, GPSTraining up Northumberland area or wherever they are and Garmin subsequently confirmed there was a known problem with the unit shutting down and told me what the issue was. I got a full refund, unit and motorcycle mount.
However two years on interestingly the 700i is no longer sold by Garmin.
Only time will tell how it performs but I thought I’d give the 750i a go.
However to confirm Garmin have always known what the cause of the shut down was, they told me so themselves and also identified exactly what the cause was. 👍

There is no difference between the 700 and 750 other than the camera module.
The entire main system is identical.
Trust me - I’ve one sent by Garmin UK as they could not provide a BNIB 700i rather than what would’ve been the 5th refurbished one after the original one starting acting up.(perfect until 19.* firmware/software).
It’s going back.
So is the brand new 700i on the OH’s bike.
Just waiting for them to decide about the mounts and the expensive maps

As I said I know what the cause of the issue is and so do Garmin. It has nothing to do with the units.

Garmin Montana 700i

My mistake, I meant to say GPSTraining no longer stock the 700i because of the issues. GPSTraining are probably the largest stockist in the U.K. of extensive Garmin products.
I bought my 2 from them.
