I've taken delivery

Well the waitings finally over and I picked up me new bike up at 4.30pm yesterday.

Weathers been great so I've done a 100 miles today, of which 60 were on byeways. I can honestly say that I haven't had this much fun since seeing a dwarf mud wrestling an angry pig ( sorry Rev Chuck :p ).

Only probs that I have experienced so far are that I keep bashing my shin on the engine bars, and - wait for it -it SURGES. Apart from that I am smiling from ear to ear :D and happy as a pig in muck.

After my 1 1/2 days of ownership, these items are now at the top of my shopping list:

1) New screen to sort out the wind turbulence ( or ear plugs! )
2) GPS Bracket
3) City Slickers HID Lights (mmm)
4) Vern's panniers -already orderd

Below are some pics of my bike. I'll put another post in when I have a few more miles under my belt. Anybody reading this who's thinking about one of these bikes - get one - they're brilliant.

Well spotted Mike :clap. I don't know how they compare to the Metzelers but I do know that they're slippery as F*** down a green lane LOL :p

I'm well pleased at how balanced and safe the bike feels. Here are a few more pics for ya...( someone please stop me if I'm becoming a pain in the arse :D )

Mr T

Is it a twin spark ?

Have fun running it it, I pick mine up next weekend from Woolaston, I cant sleep !!!

Okay ya smug git, shut it! Black wheels????
Have a not too fantastic Saturday, remeber to give thanks on Sunday. Try not to get too tired out too quickly, and remember that you have service due - very soon, at the rate your going.

cecilthecat; it's a singlespark model. This one was the last in the showroom and up for £9K. All their twinspark models were at full list price- I couldn't quite stretch to it. You are really gonna love yours mate -it's the best bike I've ridden in a long long time. Enjoy :dance

Rev Chuck; everytime I open that throttle I have a little giggle thinking of you :hapybnce: . When I get north of Derby, I'll look you up :beerjug: and you can take her out.

CONGRATULATIONS ! :D

So thats what they look like new ! - got mine new sep last, now 8,200 miles on the clock, and in desperate need of some TLC !

So within three weeks uve become a fun loving GSer, wots ur m8's say?..and more important hows the wife ?
 ?

Just one modification i would recomend asap is to check ur fuel connectors (right hand side) they are proberbly crimped - change to mini jublee clips (theres 2) as most owners here and in the states, inc me, have had a small petrol leek that if isnt sorted can stain the lower shaft thingy - im sure someone has a photo that they can post to show you...have fun:)

Bilks.

Cheers Bilks  . I think I'll put copper grease on the brake pad pins while I'm at it.

The comments I'm getting range from" YOU BOUGHT WHAT??? / What did you buy one of them for??? / You old git etc etc". All the standard fair I'm sure LOL.

I have decided to keep my R6 for the time being.

Tickle!!!! Huge congrats ....

For someone who uses the name 'Retroman', I find it odd that you object to style classics like Ray-Ban 'Wayfarer' sunglasses - surely an example of 'retro' design...

Wotcha Mike ....

'Retroman' is a name imposed on me from elsewhere which has kinda stuck ..... in contrast I see myself as a forward looking, progressive type ..... why else would I ride round in on a GS?

I'm too young to be truly retro .... so I guess its an excercise in irony, Mike:thumb

Mr Tickle: don't listen to me - no one else does .... RESTORE YOUR AVATAR and be proud!!! :)
