And it is strong...... Is the XT1200 as well built as it seems ?
And what should i be looking for on an older high(ish) mileage model.

You surprise me.................I thought a 1200GS(A) would be your bike of choice![]()

If they were any good my work would be halved.....

Packer will give you a good account and so will Mike R (he's on his second) and has still got a 1150GS and has had, but sold 1200GS's in favour of S10's
If they were any good my work would be halved..... I just like riding, not having to do in my spare time what i do all week and work on 1200 models.![]()

You know my history better than me!
1150gs is still with me after 12 years, the S10 is sat in the garage on a Sorn politely waiting for 1 April, and the latest 1200 I had has gone to fund an Explorer!!!!!
Can't evaluate the Explorer as yet as has only covered 400m, but the S10 is built like a tank. Totally reliable although a nail in the back tyre caused a slight problem in Dijon last summer.
The quality of the S10 is slowly being recognised. Anyone seen May's edition of Ride magazine!!!!
Mike
My friend runs his own indie Porsche workshop. He cut his teeth on the aircooled stuff as a young spanner man, but says without the porsche boxster /996/7 series his work would also be halved.
He had an 04 996 4S with 34k miles in Monday with terminal intermediate shaft failure. That's the 6th this year and were still in March..
What's my point ? Feck knows ....
Oh yeah that was it......
Your 1200/Soon to be WC is his Boxster/996/7 soon to be 991 series of Porsche.![]()
What's an S10?![]()
Our Melch is leaning this way...![]()
).Melch - which GS have got?
(apart from the PD)
I only have the Airhead Johnny. (Which is soon to depart Chez Melch). I had a 1200GS in 2005 (my one and only new bike). I got rid of it after a year because I did not like the feeling of possible impending doom. Maybe that is irrational but that is the way I felt. My money is hard earned and I can't and don't want to be throwing money at dealers for what I consider inexcusable faults.
