Steve you may well laugh but if your doing some serious motorway miles in sh*te weather & low temps in winter you can't beat it,yeh you get some wierd looks from cars passing but toasty warm.:thumb2

Noooooo I can't believe that any winter riders can't see the sensibility of this accessory. Muffs are the next step in winter comfort, but this is the icing on the cake.

Lots. And I don't need one of those gay scooter blankets.

A proper waterproof suit (KLIM) and heated clothing (Gerbing trousers, jacket and insoles). Sorted.:thumb

I have heated clothing. But a shitebag stops the outer layer getting wet. So no puddles on your (or someone elses floor), no hanging up the suits to dry off, and no clag stuck to the outer.

What about your jacket then? The shite bag wont keep that dry.

Couldn't give a monkeys about "clag" stuck to the outer.

Its a waterproof jacket and trousers; designed to get wet.

Each to their own....but a ghey scooter skirt just doesn't do it for me and don't feel the need for it. Where I'm sitting, I'm toasty 'n' dry in all weathers.

:aidan

Cheers folks (those of you who posted in response to my question) - I never intended to re-raise the issue of whether to 'Shitebag' or not.

No speed difference at all.

Tell me, do you have different speeds for different jackets ??

Yes: BMW Denim Suit <60mph. BMW Rallye 2 <70mph, Aerostich Roadcrafter <90mph, BMW Atlantis <120, Hideout Leathers <180 (I should be so lucky, lucky, lucky, lucky...etc,etc,etc)

Ahh, but it does, it reaches up almost to the collar . Just the top of the arms get the weather.

And the muffs reach up to the elbow. :D

But as you say, each to their own, any old wanker can get wet. :D

Yes I have muffs too. Feels like I am fisting two sheep. Lovely. Summer gloves all year round. Yay.

It must be hard work getting that load of clobber on at once, or can you cahnge on the go? :hide

+1 for the muffs, kept my hands warm today :thumb

May get a shitbag one day.

This stuff looks cool on scooters in Paris, but on a GS it is just totally gay.

Fair enough :thumb2

I just don't have the thick end of two grand to spend on all that kit. :beerjug:

With a shytebag, I don't need it either :augie

I'll ask mine about it's sexuality tomorrow, but as it's just a large bit of very well made man made material, I rather doubt it has any proclivities towards shytebags of the same sex or not :nenau

You utter utter fashion victim :blast

I can and do ride all year around, no matter what the weather or how far, because I have a shytebag and sensible kit and tyres.
If you really are that concerned about it looking 'gay' (whatever that means) then no more needs to be said really, does it

And this, friends, is why rags like MSN are now asking whether the 1200 has had it's day. If you need a blanket and muffs for winter commuting, buy a f**king scooter :blast

ive got muffs on my gs, i commute on a 30 year old cb250 with no muffs but thats 16 miles i tend to do 200-400 on a proper ride out and my hands get cold :O

plus its nice to tell your mates you've had your hands deep inside two big black muffs all day :)

Ride fast enough and nobody will notice.

Though Id rather spend the money on heated clothing, then only the power plug to faff with.

Even with brush guards, heated grips and GoreTex/Thinsulate winter gloves as the temperature dips clos to zero my hands get so cold after a few hours that quick and accurate control of brakes becomes difficult.

First tried Oxford muffs, better but not great, then found out about TU products. What a revelation. Summer gloves all year, rain hail, snow or freezing fog it matters not one jot. Heated grips on high actually start to fell like they are burning so on low for most of the time.

I haven't felt the need for the shytebag yet but if I do worrying about what someone thinks about my appearance will score "nil points".
