An easy day and we camp early in the same spot as a year ago at the beginning of our ride to the Westfjords.
It gives me chance to think....where to tomorrow?

Chatting with a couple of young German families who are cycling around Iceland and it seems one of the women's luggage didn't turn up at the airport, so no sleeping bag etc. etc.!
They needed to call the airport but their phone was flat and the only way to charge it was from the dynamo on his bike. He'd made some sails from Gaffa tape on the spokes but at the moment there wasn't quite enough wind.
I did suggest he cycled to Keflavik airport and back to charge the phone then they could call Keflavik when he got back
We plugged his phone into my bike but later the wind did pick up enough to get a charge from his dynamo

Hi LeeLoving this RR Tim. Been offline for the last 10 days as the wifi on the island only worked for about an hour on one day, but home now so I can read it properly. Would go back in a heartbeat!
Tim,
I'm in awe of the ingenuity of the cyclist and the Dynamo. Was this something he made or is it a kit of some sort? No, I'm not missing a gadget, I'm really impressed he managed to make this assuming it wasn't a kit from halfords.
Just strips of Gaffa tape to make the sails.
Great report Tim and awesome pictures!

And the Dynamo was an old Skool power the lights affair ? How did he get the output from Dynamo to the phone ?
With a shovel![]()
It's good to dream.....![]()
Without them, we only exist
I'll get onto the third half soon!
