IE Firefox help

I have IE8 which does not work well with this site.I find Firefox works better,
Firefox keeps saying I need to install plugins when i follow the link and intall them i am told it has to be done manually then nothing seems to happen even after following the links all the way to the finish button.I am just asked to do it again!Why?

Karnevil......it's probably the flash player that is (at least ) one of the plugins......it's more effective to go to the D/load site (adobe.com) and get the install file, close everything else down before you install it then reboot immediately afterwards......I don't think we have any Java on the site but get the latest Java client as well.
