If you haven't yet, you should...

I wish Hilltop had a location over here!

Hmm, wonder if I mailed them my ECM they could flash it?

Given that while I was there, they received and started programming a couple of ECU's, I'd say "yes" is probably the answer. Drop Mark a line on [email protected]. Tell him I put you onto him and he'll give you a definitive answer.

Exhaust, as you'll remember has had an Akra endcan for the past couple of months. Just over 3000 miles on the bike. Exhaust headers replaced (de-cat/flappy thing gone) with Akra TI headers minutes before the remap.

Offcause, how I managed to forget about it I'm not too sure :blast

I'd love TI headers but insurance cost and to buy them in the first place is rather prohibitive. Mind you if I can snap a used set from that fleabay place, then I might just pop them on in a new year when I get a chance to renew my insurance.

Sickeningly, the carbon bit that I had to buy from you was made redundant with the new headers as it has a moulding that goes round the flappy thing!

Anyone wanna buy a carbon bit?

I know that TO headers come with rather ugly version of SS shield. Could you not make it work/adapt a carbon shield? I know it had a cut out but I rather have that oddity than an ugly duckling SS shield.

I have a friend who lays up Carbon. I think I may take a plaster mould of it and see if he could make me something as the SS one is a bit industrial

Let me know how you get on.

Good to know, Phi and thanks for the Email contact. This is something I'm seriously considering now and may do over the Winter. I did this with my FJ-09 (Tracer I believe over there) shipping the ECM across country to be flashed or reprogrammed and it really cleaned up the awful fueling on that bike.

I get a real flat spot around 5k RPM that clears up after about 6k. Could do with a few more ponies too, but it seems quite expensive!

Why would BMW get an English backstreet garage to work on a new unreleased model to increase the BHP?

Would logic not say at the very least they would get a German backstreet garage to do that for them?

Anyway could they not do this for themselves?

Maybe have a think exactly why. :augie

can someone confirm that when it's done a) BMW won't be able to see it has been done e.g. to argue over any warranty liability issues .

I'm told BMW UK do look on here and I deffo know of several dealers whom do, so I'm sure if that's the case than they will know that the op's TB bike has had the ECU tinkered with, and now probably has a marker on the reg no
