I bought one of these used from e bay as I didn't fancy paying over £200 new.

When fitted there is only 0.4 mm clearance between the mounting bolts and the rear disc because of the additional thickness of the hugger mounting.

Does anyone have one of these fitted and if so is yours the same.

Wasn't sure if when bought new bolts with slimmer heads were supplied.

I've searched the internet but can't find any fitting instructions that might give me a clue.

I bought one of these for my 2014 LC from this website. I just used the bolts already on the bike. I have had no issues and it fits perfect. I will have a look when I get home this evening at the clearance.

I think the hugger comes with new bolts without washers, so the clearance is larger. I will have a look tonight when I get home

Mine came without screws - I just reused the originals as they're plenty long enough. There's no clearance issues.

Thanks for the input but I used the original screws and yes they are plenty long enough but the clearance between the bolt head and the disc is the issue. The bolt head are now nearer the disc by the thickness of the hugger mounting. How much clearance would you say there was on yours?

Mine came with new bolts which have a slimmer head, ........ Its up for sale if anyone is interested

Thread resurrection... I've just bought one of these from nippy Norman. The instructions included are in German and retailer is closed for a week for stock taking...

Mackap, did you determine whether new bolts were necessary?? And if anyone has some English instruction that they could email to me I'd appreciate it.

Thanks !!

I eventually ended up with some slimmer headed bolts that gave a clearance I was happy with. These came from the Ilmberger UK agent and evidently known as K bolts because they are seemingly from the K series.

Ilmerger in Germany were helpful and maintained there should be a larger clearance than I had measured. However they maintained nothing had changed regarding mountings and the original bolts should have been OK but they did suggest the K bolts.

If you are interested I'll try and dig out the email trail I had with them.

Pete

Hi Pete

Thank you for getting back so quickly. I'm going to try fitting it this afternoon. If the clearance looks too tight I'll drop you a line...
At least I know the originals 'should' be ok.

How important is it to torque these bolts correctly?

Richard.

I did torque mine up but can't remember the figure. Also put a dab of locking compound on as well.
