Off to Spain with old mate Rob (CHASR of this parish )

Plan is ferry to Santander then San Sebastian, as Rob's never been then a couple of nights in Pyrenees followed by a meander up through a France via Loire river, then Rob heading for tunnel via a night in Rouen then me home via a night in St Malo.

Got slow ferry yesterday to Portsmouth then rode up to stay with Rob on edge of Cotswolds

We left Robs at 0800 for 200 mile ride to Plymouth.

After just ten miles it went a tad tits up .

Rob suddenly brakes very hard and comes to a stop ten yards from t junction .

My fault for being too close but was completely unexpected and I give him a glancing blow as can't stop in time .

BOLLOX !

Bike and rider go down .
His right leg hurts so he stays seated and we decide to call an ambulance.
Whilst he's talking to 999, as they wanted to triage him directly, he stands up and says he'll just go home as can ride then get neighbour who is a nurse to have a look.
I say I'll go with him but he wants me to push on as no point spoiling the trip for both of us.
Not happy with this but he says he's fine, pretty sure nothings broken so he insists I carry on and he heads home.

Some minor damage to his bike and my left highway peg and plastic engine casing are damaged

So I continued to AV8 cafe for brek

Give Rob a call and neighbour had taken him to A and E.

I then ride 150 miles without stopping to Plymouth .
Call Rob and he's home .Broken leg but a clean fracture FFS 🥺

Good job he went home !
At least his Alpinestars airbag vest worked as advertised .
I call him and he tells me my bike glanced his leg and that's why he dropped his due pain .
Major scrapes on my left highway peg so I reckon that hit him and bike .

We' re jinxed trying to do Spain.
Last time we tried was 2009 but I got done for speeding on K1300S and got six month ban in France so trip was canned .
We were only joking about it first thing this morning FFS.

So I've just had lunch in Plymouth and off to catch ferry .
Feel really bad about it but Rob says it was a genuine accident and he's no idea why he brakes so hard and short of the junction .

Could have been worse and we could have been up in the Pyrenees.

So I'm off.

Will post a few pics now and then

Bloody hell that's a bummer Martin. Hopefully he will be ok and you have a decent trip.

And a prize if you spot one of my stickers kicking about.

Doc,
I spotted one of yours's at this view point whilst touring in the Picos a few weeks ago.
Do you remember leaving this one?

So vehicle A stops a bit quickly(allegedly). Vehicle B impacts vehicle A resulting in a fracture to the leg of the rider of vehicle A.

Where their’s blame there’s a claim is the old saying.

Just saying

Fault already admitted in writing in the first post

Careful now - those EBAs can be a bit vague - wouldn’t want you halfway up Flyer’s arse

Blimey, I was nearly going to be on that ferry. Better make yourself known to the skipper - trouble on board!
