Hi, I've searched the forum to no avail. When getting my bike (gs1200) out this morning I clipped the front indicator of the wall and it snapped forwards. It's not actually broken I don't think but I can't figure out how to get it back on again. I nearly put my back out trying to force it back onto the stalk.

Anyone any tips? I tried rotating the body 90 degrees and pushing but nothing. Help please :aidan

You could try some...

Silicone lubricant?

Can't remember what my 1200 was like but if you've removed the Posidriv/Phillips screw, you should be able to reinsert it without too much effort. A bit of silicone lube might just be what you need. Have a look at this -
http://www.ascycles.com/Illustrated_catalog/R1200GS(04-up)/catalog_frameset.html
(parts fiche for the R1200GS) - that at least might give you an idea. It's the 11th or 12th fiche up from the bottom...

Oh, and I've just had a peek at your profile. Need any Cobol programmers?:D

"Back onto the stalk" ....

Take the lens off (1 screw) and pull the reflector out.

Put the body of the indicator back on the stalk and slide the reflector back in.

You'll see what I mean... the reflector slides over grooves in the stalk.
