Son who works for large insurance company in edinburgh, think scottishspoke to underwriters on this.
They advised, if you have a financial interest in the vehicle and are registered keeper there is no problem.
It is when there is no financial interest that the issue arises, if you have no interest then they cannot pay you any monies on settlement.
Which sort of makes sense.
Other not so nice point was that you have now been technically refused insurance and are required to disclose this to any future insurer.

E-mailed Carole Nash about wether they would insure a bike bought via either PCP or HP and this is their reply:
"Thank you for your email.
Unfortunately we do not offer insurance on a vehicle where the individual is the registered keeper but not the owner of the bike.
We are only able to provide insurance cover where the vehicle is both owned and registered to the individual."
I think we need to use social media and the motorcycle press to get these companies to think sensibly!
Im sure Carol Nash will fall in line and realise their mistake as Bennets have.
When insuring this morning with BMW i did ask if i had to declare id been refused insurance now, she said no. and put no on the quote.
Important to note you have not been refused insurance they chose not to insure the bike you wanted to insure, the two are quite different.
Proper shower of shit!Victor,
They do !
My point was that when I inquired about PCP cover the woman didn't know what it was. But simply stated we dont care how you financed your machine, as long as you are on the logbook as the registered keeper.
What a shower of shit these companies are.![]()
I think all insurance companies are chancers really, how much confidence have you in your insurance company? That they won't try and wriggle out of paying out in the unfortunate situation that you need to make a claim? You pay your money, get your certificate because the law says you have to and hope that if you have to use it they will pay out. Or am I being cynical? Look how many companies named in this thread alone don't even know themselves if they cover a pcp financed bike and they are the experts..
I've a bike on PCP insured through Carol Nash!!
