Insurance?

I truly fail to understand why people seem to try BMW insurance as some sort of last resort.

I have been with BMW insurance for years. I currently have four bikes insured with them - a 2102 GS Adventure, a 1992 r100r and two BMW c1s

The first bike on the policy goes on at it's usual rate (for example let's say £350) and the other three go on for £10.50 each)

The downside is they must be BMWs (reasonable) and there is a limit of four bikes in total (sane)

To me a total no brainer :blast

Sadly the time you find out if a cheaper company was a good idea is when you claim. £700 seems a lot to me but there must have been a reason for it - age/postcode/ncb/claims history/annual mileage/rider training/vehicle security/ occupation etc.

When I trawl around for quotes for my car insurance I NEVER take the cheapest

All I can say is my experience at BMW insurance including multiple changes of bikes over the years, and a claim for the total loss of a c1 in a u-turning car incident, has been superb.

They get my vote.

New 2013 water cooled GS: £181.20 renewal for me with BMW - 9 years no claims, garaged, safe post code, data tagged, old age :D, 9,000 miles per year, occasional business use, legal expenses etc.

I insured mine with BMW, found it simple and £50 cheaper than any one else, probably cheaper as they do not give breakdown cover which is covered by 2 year cover anyway with bike.

Yep and they even protect your NCB for no extra premium - they get my vote too:thumb

I have a multi-bike with Ducati Insurance.

BMW wanted over £600 for a new policy - ouch.

Adding to my multi-bike was about £250 for the year, the Ducati Insurance is just a broker and they have handled other marques for me in the past so happy to do the GS and had details on the new bike. They also emailed the certificate straight through so easy to do the admin as well.
