Simple question.
And I'm sure it will be a simple answer.
How do I find out which version of Internet explorer I'm using ?
And what version should I be using might also be a good thing to know I suspect ?
A couple of websites have recently told me I'm running an old version and I have searched around with google but found nothing definitive that I trust.
Thank you.

I'm no expert but I find firefox much faster, easier and less prone to crashing than explorer.
I can also sync all my firefox bookmarks onto my iphone

They are supported outside Microsoft so for example IE 8 is the newest for XP in a few years it will be useless on the internet because Microsoft will never update it. On top of that IE has extremely poor support for open standards so pages simply don't load properly and its getting worse. Chrome and firefox do support standards properly. All that said Chrome is just much faster and nicer to use. It costs you nothing so why not give it a go and make your own mind up? If you don't like the idea of Google being attached to Chrome then download http://www.srware.net/en/software_srware_iron.php instead. Exactly the same browser but cut off from the Google ecosystem.

explorer

Have you tried Google Chrome?, all free and a lot better than internet explorer
I find and easier to use. Lot of book marks and switching sites is so quick and easy give it a go.
