Is everyone getting along with IOS 7 on the iPhone/iPad?

Didn't like it at first, but seems to be all making sense now :thumb

BUT .... ordinary phone texts will not come through when the 'phone is switched off, that is they don't come through when I turn the 'phone back on again :nenau

Vodafone say it is a common problem with the 7 update ... but then they would wouldn't they!

Tried, their suggestion, switching automatic carrier off, select another network, dismiss and then select Vodafone. Also a restart on the 'phone.

Any suggestions from the collective please ....

Other than throw the iPhone away :D

Have you checked SMS / MMS settings are on under settings > message?

Mine upgraded and switched them off Effectively rendering everything except iMessage useless.

IOS7 default has texts as iMessage only

Settings - Messages - Send as SMS....... switch to on :thumb2

It's just the receiving of texts (iMessages not a problem)

MMS messaging is on
Send as SMS when iMessage is not available is on
:nenau

Never turn mine off as I use it as an alarm clock & it gets charged up every night. :blagblah

I don't need an alarm clock, but I could leave it on and get the radio to come on at the appointed hour :thumb

Good idea ;)

That doesn't turn off SMS it just sends the iMessage via SMS when there is no data or wireless internet. . SMS is always turned on

Messages has gone unreliable for me since the upgrade.

It will not always wend iMessages (blue) but will hang. I have thought the message has gone and later gone back in to find it still hanging.

Even though I am connected to wifi I have to then choose to send it as a text message.

Is it just me or since the upgrade mine won't rotate the screen image when watching films, looking at pictures or web browsing am I missing something. Also the voicemail keeps acting up. Seems an upgrade where it's ended up worse than before :blast

There's something in settings that locks/unlocks screen - check what it's set to

Swipe up the screen for control centre & make sure the padlock "portrait orientation" on the right is not lit up, this is the screen lock.

There were issues around messages and in mst cases it is about to renew the lease with your carrier.

After you checked in
SETTINGS MESSAGES
SETTINGS. DO NOT DISTURB
SETTINGS. NOTIFICATION CENTER

that everything is the way you want it """" turn your phone totally off with the slider and back on again to renew the lease with your carrier .....this helps in most cases....... If not follow this. Go to www.apple.com and type. TS2755 into the search field on top right and follow the instructions
