Hi I'm a bit useless on computers so need help I've brought my mum a ipad she wants to use it to view photos that she has on her old laptop what is easiest way to move them to the ipad or is cloud the way to go ? Thanks for any help

There are ways of getting usb sticks to talk to an ipad but its complicated.
Use the Cloud ........no doubt about it.

if its an apple old laptop she can just plug the iPad into that via a USB socket, if not iCloud is the way to go ….pics on an apple iPhone ? stream them over ..she could of course email them to herself, bit time consuming but I'm sure she has plenty of that !

No need for sticks .... iTunes is your solution. Just go to www.apple.com and there iTunes to download the program. During doing so make sure all other programs are closed because I advise you to turn off antivirus software for a good reason, only when off you guarantee that all drivers and components of iTunes are installed properly. When program runs connect the pad and follow the article. No big deal and over time you will get quick and want to use the iCloud. iTunes looks a it different today but the principle remains the same.

Got one of them Micky - but the iUSB port can in some circumstances - be a lot better, in that it is most used with sticks, so uses a lot less power than spinning an HDD.
