Just tried to update my Ipod and got message saying "some of the songs in your music library were not uploaded to your Ipod because you are not authorised on this computer" (or something very similar)

I now find half my songs are no longer on my Ipod.

I've only ever used this one PC with my Ipod, and never had problems before.

I had the change the CMOS backup battery on the motherboard yesterday because it had expired, so it can only be that can't it?

How the hell do I get my Ipod recognised or 'authorised' again???

F**king computers..... really p**s me off sometimes

Help would be much appreciated.

Will

Get rid of iTunes and download Media Monkey. I got fed up of iTunes dictating what I could or couldn't put on my iPod. If I open Media Monkey I have 2896 tracks on there, all accessible. If I use iTunes only 80% of the songa are visible or usable. The number of times iTunes boots up and then puts an excalmation mark next to tracks only to not mark the same tracks the next time is ridiculous.

Also Media Monkey allows you to drag tracks both ways, i.e. off your iPod or onto it.

You can run them both on the same machine.

Oh and it's free!

Most of the music on my ipod has been ripped off of other PC's, so I have more music on my ipod than on my PC, are you saying that with Media Monkey I can drag all the music off my ipod onto my PC, which is something you can't do with itunes.

Yes, you can drag the copy from the iPod to your PC and vice versa.

Still struggling!

If I was to use Media Monkey as you suggest, would that immediately access my current music library, including the various songs I have bought from itunes, and let me upload them to my Ipod. (thus solving the problem in my original post)?

If I decided to stick with itunes, can someone solve the current problem as described in first post?

Download Senuti - job done and sorted:thumb

Media Monkey will do everything you've asked. It dosen't need any 'authorising' bo*llocks either, plug in 20 iPods if you want.

More help please.

I did as MrIfan suggested and that reenabled my itunes, so many thanks for that matey.

Also decided to give this media monkey a go as well, but it doesn't seem to find my music library.

If I 'rescan' tracks to library it has ticked the box next to Itunes music, yet none shows in the Media Monk library.

Clearly I'm thick, but more help would be appreciated.

Thanks

MMoB is a different bloke, I'm more like the MMoPies.

No probs, it sounded like it was this, - no idea on the media monkey though, can it handle Apple fairplay DRM, or is it just for shifting files about?
