Plotting a route on Google Maps (from a to b) is simple and straightforward. However if I add stops to the route I can’t seem to find out the total journey distance. For example a route from A to C is 100 miles, but if I add an interim stop at B (45 miles from A) then the distance shown is only that from A to B - 45 miles - and not the total journey of A to B to C

It’s probably my fault, can anyone advise please if I’m doing it wrong

I followed your links - the first example shows the distance (74 miles) but the second example with a stop added only shows ‘2 stops’ and not the distance

the problem is given by the word at the top left of your screenshot

I’ll give it a try on Chrome
Update - I’ve tried to plot a route with an interim stop on both Safari and Chrome. The result was the same - the route with the interim stop did not show the total mileage. I opened the examples posted by Wessie in both Safari and Chrome, again the second route only showed the number of stops and total time but not the total distance

To clarify - the total route including interim stops is plotted and shown but only with the time the journey will take, not the overall distance

It doesn’t work with more than one stop, I just calculate each leg as one stop

It seems I’m not the only one to find this issue a PITA. For some reason this discussion on the Google help desk has been locked

Has something been changed this works fine on my PC and phone.

not on my iphone on the latest OS.

1 stop shows time and distance, 2 stops shows time only, and has always been the case.

Different on Android maybe?

Yep working on Chrome on PC

And Google Maps on Android phone

Shows both total distance and total time on both
