I've been thinking of somewhere to go early next year-1st of may weekend.

Lochranza on Arran looks good, I have never been across on Arran before and googling it ,it seems a good weekend visit.

Lochranza has a campsite,youth hostel and hotel, I know its a long way off but would there be any interest in having a SS meet there?

There are two ferries running by May. -Ardrossan-Brodick is the main one 50min sail.
Then the summer one from near tarbet -Lochranza sailing time about 30mins.

Prices for 2009 were £28 return for the Ardrossan ferry..i think
and £18 for the one to Lochranza.

So wid ya be interested

Used to go every easter and september weekend in the 80's only one polis car on the island then and folk would treat it as a TT circuit stayed in Lamlash

Alderside, Pier head tavern and the Blenheim were the pubs I sort of recall

A lot of the hotels were bought over from folk fae the south and all of a sudden Arran turned into a no leather jackets Island.

Not been in years and no doubt all will have changed again for the good.

And it's a cracker of a road to Clonaig, especially from the south via Campbeltown... Where you can visit the Springbank distillery shop fer yer cargo
