Isle of Man

Blondie and I are over for the TT arriving 30th May and leaving 9th June. I’m just a bit excited :D just hope it’s a bit drier than last year :thumb

MASH Cafe on the North Quay @ Douglas Harbour.

What was M.A.S.H. Is now "Quayside - Cafe & Bistro".

Same good coffee, prices that do not rise during race fortnights, and two waitresses who would grace any cafe!

Oh, and the address remains the same :- 19 North Quay, Douglas. IM1 4LE

All the best, Jim.

I'll be off work all week to soak in the atmosphere and get as many laps as possible in!

And for those technophiles amongst us ......

The Quayside's GPS coordinates are:-

N54 08.865

W004 28.942

See you all a week today.

All the best, Jim.

I'm late, (again!).

I've now got an appointment booked with an accommodation provider down in Ballaphenic @ 10:30 on Sunday - so, please accept my profuse apologies & you'll all have to entertain yourselves by extracting the urine from one Dave Tee & his paltry collection of Titanium masquerading as a MegaMoto!

Feel free to drink excellent coffee, ogle the waitresses, eat quality food, and talk absolute balderdash.

I'll either return to the Cafe and join you in your revels, or meet up with you all later, either on a lap, (Ballacraine, or Douglas Rd. corner in Kirk Michael), or at some other meeting place, time & date to be fixed.

All the best, Jim.

PS

I'm in the habit of getting up @ silly o'clock in order to enjoy a relatively free & easy circuit of the course. So, if anyone would care to tag along with me & the usual suspects, (DT & Paul Young), you would be most welcome.

These laps are an excellent introduction to the course & would pay back the effort of arising @ 04:30 many fold.

Usual times of departure are :- 05:30:eek:, and, 06:30:eek

All the best, Jim.

Changes to race programme

Due to the lack of practice time available these last few days as a result of the recent poor weather, Gary Thompson, (Clerk of the Course), has split today's races over today & tomorrow.

This means that the superbikes will race tomorrow, ("Mad Sunday"), and that the roads will close @ 13:30 on the bottom of the course, and 13:00 on the mountain.

Hence, we will need to be mindful of the need to allow sufficient time to get to preferred spectating positions, marshal's stand etc - say 12:00 for anyone wanting to get to Keppel Gate from the cafe.

See you tomorrow, and all the best, Jim.
