Which would be a good map too purchase with detail...
Just need it too look at it for rough route planning....please..
Dotting down places of interest too try too make a rough plan....

Michelin regional maps are probably what you are looking for. 1:200,000
I also have a book (ring bind) of all of Italy and one for France with two level of details (1:200,000 and less detailed overview areas at the start), still Michelin. They have seen better days to be fair :D

If you are looking for road riding, that is.

it would be in my Vw T5 campervan...
Taking 2 week,s in total,
Dieppe to Lyon,toll route all the way...and in reverse aswell...

Should have said we do like sightseeing church's, monuments and such stuff.....
It's just too mark it on a big map,so as to give us an idea on where or if we join the dots up reasonably well...
 
If it’s just to stick pins in, I’d buy something like this, which is over a metre long….
