Well after several years of laying idle I decided to try and get the G/S running.

Wired up the ignition switch correctly and fitted a good starter motor.

The oil pump is new so wanted to give it the best chance of priming it quick.

So plugs out and grounded, battery fitted from the RS and click nothing but the relay clicking.

Had a look at the wiring and realised I'd cocked up again so put it right and wrrrrrr starter motor get's it spinning and oil pressure light goes out fairly quick.

Hmmm what next shall we go for a start, in for a penny lets go for it.

Tank on, bit of petrol and brrmmmm starts first time, ign light goes out and it ticks over.

I am amazed it started considering the state of the thing.

Still loads to do but really wanted to hear it run before I commited any further.

Happy days :)

Really pleased for you Paul. Although I'm a little concerned that somebody who works on aircraft engines for a living should be surprised when an engine he's worked on starts :D

I've been busy with the wiring and cables so been a bit tied up.

Changed the seals in the carbs some time ago but they still feel horible especially the choke.
New throttle and choke cables on he cards I think.

Put the Bosch starter back in and need a new breather pipe so top cover not on yet.
Also changed the neutral switch and connected up.

Trial fitted the front mudguard.

It's nothing to look at as it still needs paint (White).

Need to sort out the wheels next so any recommendations for re-spoke and rim polish serivce much appreciated.
