ITS HERE S1000XR

I did check my footage from NEC and I can't see anything that could poke me in the eye.

The only plastics that seem different are the plastics around the knee area, this would make sense as to why they use the heavy grain plastics to prevent marking, the rest looks the same, if you want to see proper welding have a browse at the mutley's, its proper .

I recon rich will drill steve bellars tomorrow on these issues, let us no what you find out fella.

I certainly will.:thumb Does he wear a name badge?

Well, he wasn't there.:blast But I spoke to a couple of the senior BMW bods who confirmed that this is indeed a pre production model, and there will be a large number of changes made to the bike before it is released. Including the finish of the plastics/ paint.:thumb

that may well be true,so why rush a piss poor product through?? wait till London with a more finished item.
They will bounce back with a better product for sure but this must have cost them some early orders.

Not been many comments on the RS? Is that a good sign?

So the question ! What did you think ..

I liked it. As we all agree, once it has the finished plastics/ finishes, and it looks like the finished article, it should be a great bike. If I wanted to go back to having one bike in the garage, this could be a contender, but for the time being, I'm happy with what I have.:thumb I'd certainly wait until 2016 before buying one, if I was in the market though.

I've gig the s1000r. This bike has a higher centre if gravity. The s1000r will wheelie everywhere. The xr will probably be pretty unmanageable.

I thought they had lengthened the wheelbase on the Xr to help stability !

4 inches. With that engine i can't see any major difference. Though the bike is a lot heavier than the r.

Well it better be good, i did have confirmation from BM HQ, the bike will have several updates before final production and the plastics will be updated, seeing as I've got a voucher to use, a gesture of goodwill from BMW it makes sense to place my order (even at £15k it will still be a relatively cheap bike for me due to having a voucher to use that is only applicable for 6 months)

I'm no 13 of 19 bikes the dealer is having nxt yr.

Very brave, that.

Yep i agree with you Bob, but as BMW have brought my bike back and given me a voucher offer thats only open till april after this time the voucher is void and must be use against a new bike, its a gesture of goodwill, its a no brainier, i cannot lose .

I was told "June" for first deliveries............

I had planned on changing my 1200GSA in the early spring - for either an LC GS1200 or fancied trying this new "Multistrasse"..........

June's too late for me though :blast
