I've got a problem..........

Have you tried calling BMW assistance .. they are good at sorting this stuff out!

I had this with an R1100R The fuel pump got fed up when hot!

It really really "acted the goat!" in traffic???

Mind you changing the tank for a known good runner will alleviate that ??

er....
you did say
" Changed the coil, HT leads, sparkplugs..."
but not the plug caps:confused:

only reason i though of that was coz i went through the same rigmarole on an Airhead :blast and that was it

Good Luck :)

1150GS. single spark. fires up and runs ok.
But when up to temperature, it coughs, farts and runs rough, sort of dies then picks up again.
Changed the coil, HT leads, sparkplugs, TPS unit, NEW hall sensor, temp sensor, lambda probe. Tried another motronic unit, and injectors. :nenau
Anyone had anything similar.
Feel free to take take piss, i'm not the sensitive type. :D
And, yes, the throttle cables are seated correctly.

Put the tools away and find a grown up to help you.
and- I bet you've been twiddling the brass screws as well haven't you!! :blast

if thats to complicated for you, look in your handbook.
So many questions and not enough time.

Honestly, I've lost count of the number of times you numpties fiddle with things you don't understMy god your hard work eeeeeverything is going straight over your head. Put the workshop manual down and relax.

I think the mods need an ignore facility, please .....

So you want someone here to tell you **what's wrong with your bike** We're sitting behind a computer screen, many miles from you and your bike.
And you could be actually sitting on your bike.

Let me think about it.

My world has fell apart.

AND - was the problem sorted? Did you get it last night, or in the early hours of the morning? Have you slept on it, and awaked with a light bulb going off in your head?
Please, please, please, tell us what has happened! Renew our faith and trust in "the man." Steptoe, you the man!

If all else fails get the engine to misfire then spray the induction components with WD40 you will hear the engine note change if there is an airleak somewhere.

Could it be poor quality fuel or possibly water in the tank?

Shep

I would love to help with my two-penneth
could it be that the feed to the pump is intermttantly blocked by either the inlet pipe kinked or the pipe innerlayer is comming away from the outer and causeing a block which will colapese the pipe - stop the flow - engine dies
pump slows reduces the pull opens the pipe

HTHY I really HTHY :thumb2

Are you SURE that the parts you have installed are good, proven working parts.Particularly the air temp sensor in the airbox.
If it runs fine when cold,i guess the EFI is pumping in an enriched mixture until the the EFI is told by a sensor that the motor is up to temperature.
Is that the function of the air temp sensor or the oil temp sensor?.
Does the EFI use different algorithms for fuel supply according to changes in temperature sent to the ECU by one or more transducers.
What would be the effect of changing the mapping using a different cat code plug?.
What do the plugs look like after the motor has warmed up?.Normal or rich?.
Whats the input supply voltage measured at the ECU. 12V ok?.

Just had a text saying he's just leaving his gaff for the East Mids lunchtime meet. Didn't say which bike he was on though, he might turn up on his Gold Wing :D

I know what you mean.

It's like the day that you first realised as a kid that your parents were not infallible! :(

I take it as an extremely brave and worthy thing to do!!

An example of being Humble enough to admit to the frustration of "What The Fuh Do I do Next!"

My ole granda told me "If you Don't Know ASK!!!! because if you don't get an answer you may get inspiration!"

Hope you find it and let us know what the crack is Neil

or inside of a fuel line breaking down and blocking supply after a short period...don't laugh I've had that problem when I was a marine engineer, stumped me for a while:spitfire:blast

Did you find the fault in the end, if not do you have an oscilloscope to backprobe the injectors/sensors, would de interesting to see the injector pulse width @ lambda readings

Fuel pressure regulator...or the flux capacitor need another banana skin.
