I have yet to get a price list for the cable and connectors, but I have worked out (guessed) a price of about £15. That is 1.5 metre length, M6 nuts, bolts, washers and spring washers in a sealed package.

I can make them longer if required, will cost a couple of quid per metre with the extra cable and materials cost.

Obviously I can't take measurements of all the bikes there are to get a 1 metre external length, only then ones I have. So if anyone can spare the time to measure up and find a good, safe routing for the lead so I can sell bike specific leads, I will give you a discount on yours for your time.

I'm not too sure if I made it clear, but the cost is for the bike lead only.

I will sell the bike lead and croc lead together for less than the cost of buying seperately seperately in a kit. Will still be cheaper than the bike start kit with the advantage of quick bike-to-bike jump starting.

I know I am tight but
I have made some jump leads for the bike and used my missis's coathanger clips as crocadiles - they wrap up nice and small 2x2x6 in a bag and hide on top of me airbox on me airhead even without secureing - a bit of red and a bit of black tape identifys the leads - jobs a good un - and they work on road off road bike to bike car battery to bike - brit bike to Jap bike

Hey up again

I got some cable of a electrical mate - it is 5mm OD inc.insulation and has 10AWG 1015 105c 600v on side wall
Cut it off at 1300mm length
Got missis's trousers coathangers out of wardrobe and nicked the small croc clips off um
Drilled 5mm holes in clips attatched holed terminals to end of cables and soldered um on - bolted um up rolled um up and put um in a bag which fitted lovely on top of airbox - done 8000 km without loosing um
Used um on bike to bike and for starting me own when batt was left for a long time with a spare car batt I have in shed
They were that easy to make and use I made some to go in me off road bag on XT and there is a set traveling around Turkey at mo on Archies PD
They have also got Jaber back in the shit when he was no going in any
( stuck no power off roading ) they have started a 1200 as well
and No Janet has no more clips left in the wardrobes, before you ask
Tarka or another expert will no doubt give proper disription of the cable soon

I am considering buying in enough wire to make 25-30, nearly £100 in cable alone.

I am setting up a small online shop thing to make it all easier to manage, however due to the cost of the other parts (mainly the connectors), I may have to wait a week to get orders in before I get the parts in, I can't be stuck with £200 of parts that don't get used. That would mean approximately 2 weeks lead time at worst case.

After getting a flat battery in morroco a few years back, I invested in a set of bike jump leads. Cost about £10. 1.5m length, croc clips at each end. Pick em up from ebay/halfords

I have had interest in them for other uses apart from bike jump leads, so today I have ordered enough parts for 15 leads with the M6 eyelets on, and also 10 crocodile clips to make the crocodile lead. I will make then on request to save commiting to an amount of one type.

The leads are a length of 2 metres at a cost of £20 each, however I will package several together at a reduced cost if you want more than 1, or want the bike lead and crocodile lead.

I will include 2 M6 bolts and several washers for bolting the lead up to the battery.

The problem with them is you still need a lead. With my one, you just pull the cable out of 2 bikes and connect them together. The connector mates with itself, so to speak, and requires no additional cables to be carried.

I can sell these for far less than that setup costs, and the bike start is useless out on the road as you still need access to a battery to connect the clips to.

These are universal, will connect to any bike battery on any bike and allow jump starting within seconds, don't even have to take gloves off .

Nice idea - but my 2p worth.

The forklift power connectors are not the smallest things in the world. Just connecting two bikes together will mean that both bikes need the cable pre installed shirley?

The connectors are small ones, inch and a half square.

Yes there will have to be one on each bike. The idea was that if you have a group that regularly ride out together, or are planning a long/world trip, the leads would be fitted to each bike and provide an easy way to get a bike jump started within 20 seconds, without having to fiddle about with traditional jump leads and removing plastics to access the battery.

Can also be used as a charging socket, accessory socket, a you name it socket. Just fit whatever connector to an open lead and can connect anything quickly and easily.
