Khulu's 2024 Tour

What goes around comes around.
Sometimes it's great and sometimes not so much.
You've just got to wing it, sometimes, and go with the flow.
Anyway, tomorrow night I plan to be in Landshut, Germany.
It's still killing lying hot here to ride a bike in the afternoon!!👹👹👹👹

The very lovely and pleasant, ginger, receptionist didn't have change of a 20 Euro note so my 6 Euro beer only cost me my change - 3 Euro!
OK, said beer is done and I want a last one for the evening.
I've still only got my 20 note so I, being a gentleman as Posh Pete will validate, I offer to buy said Ginger a drink.
Kind refusal so my 0.66L Birra Moretti comes free!!!!😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎
Scotsman's paradise :)

Northern Jock to the bat phone please.
I just met this guy, from Aberdeen, who says he is no relation of yours!
Explain please.
I'm at WDW2024 in Misano, Italy.

OK, it's now time to write the full Road Trip Report along with some photos I took on the way!

Different plan for this year (a bit anyway) as I’m going to the WDW 2024 Ducati event at the race circuit near Misano, Italy (which is the reason I bought a red 1260S Multistrada 2 years ago) and, as always, wanted to fit in some bike races while away so the first one is MotoGP at Sachsenring, Germany followed by WSBK at Most, Czechia then on to WDW 2024.

Day 1:

Thursday 27.06.2024

179 glorious miles in hot dry weather to my daughter’s house near Edinburgh. This helps to break the long haul from home to the Chunnel.

Day2:

Friday 28.06.2024

444 miles today to the Conningbrook Hotel in Ashford, Kent ready for the Chunnel next morning.

Day 3:

Saturday 29.06.2024

438 miles today as I travelled fully through France to Karlsruhe, Germany. I stopped in Karlsruhe and asked my sat nav to find me hotels, which it duly did. The first one was now only for migrants, etc. and the second one I tried needed lift access to the first floor for the reception but it was closed. I saw a sign for the Bahnhof so went up that road and found a lovely hotel, with safe parking to the rear, for the night. Germany were playing, in the Euros, that night (as were Italy) and one of the restaurant platz areas was showing the games on their big screens so that was the evening’s entertainment along with a pizza and bier!

Day 4:

Sunday 30.06.2024

373 miles today and I headed east through Germany as I was aiming for Poland the following day. I ended up at a place called Bautzen (that I’d never heard of before). The first hotel I tried was at the wrong side of no access roadworks so I went down a hill to another place on the river that looked ideal but, unfortunately, they were fully booked but recommended me another place along t, and across, the river a few 100 metres downstream. Got there and a room was available with private, off road, parking. Lovely! Unpacked and found a bar at the river weir where a couple of biers slipped down nicely then it was time to walk up the hill and explore the town. Before bed I needed to visit the hotel, at the river, that was full and have a mass of dunkel bier!
